Directions & Parking
We’re in the heart of downtown Monroe on South Monroe Street (on the west side of the street) between Front and First Streets. We’re just south of the River Raisin. We’re across the street from Martin’s Shoe House (Monroe’s oldest (over 100 years) family-owned business).
If you’re coming from the north, come down I-75 to exit 15, turn right, go under the railroad overpass, go to the second light and turn right. Now you’re on E. Elm Avenue continue west to the second light which is the intersection of Elm Avenue and Monroe St. where you will see the Custer statue. Turn left and cross the river. We will be on your right in the next full block—between Front and First Streets. There is no on-street parking in front of the store (don’t even think about it). Go to the parking lot near the theater (River Raisin Centre for the Arts) which is on your right - you’re just a half block away. Also, from the north, you can come down North Telegraph. When you reach the split, stay to the left which puts you on North Monroe Street. Continue south into downtown where you’ll cross the river and we’ll be on your right in the first full block.
If you’re coming from the south, come up I-75 to exit 15, turn left and go over the expressway. Go under the railroad overpass, go to the second light and turn right. Now you’re on E. Elm Avenue continue west to the second light which is the intersection of Elm Avenue and Monroe St. where you will see the Custer statue. Turn left and cross the river. We will be on your right in the next full block—between Front and First Streets. There is no on street parking in front of the store (don’t even think about it). Go to the parking lot near the theater (River Raisin Centre for the Arts) which is on your right - you’re just a half block away. Also, from the south, you can come up S. Monroe St. (which is called S. Dixie Hwy. in south county and Detroit Ave. in Toledo) and we’ll be on your left when you come into downtown. OR you come up S. Telegraph (US 24) to W. Front St. (M-50) and turn right and follow that into town. You’ll reach a split near the U.S. Post Office and you must stay to the right which becomes W. First St. The first light after the split is the intersection of S. Monroe St. and First St. You can park on the street or turn right into the parking lot on your right. We are a half block north of the parking lot.
If you’re coming from the west, from US 23, take exit 17 (Dundee) and go through Dundee going east for about 14 miles on M-50. M-50 becomes W. Front St. at the intersection of S. Telegraph and M-50. Continue going east on W. Front St. going over tracks and through another light where you’ll reach a fork in the road—stay to the left. After you pass St. Michael’s Church you’ll reach another fork in the road where you have to stay to the right as it becomes a one way street called W. First St. At the intersection of First and Monroe St. is a public parking lot on the right. We are a half block north of the parking lot.
Parking in downtown Monroe is FREE and one-hour. BUT before you say that’s not enough time to browse, please know that we can “fix” parking tickets. We have a parking ticket validation program for customers in downtown Monroe. So, relax, browse, shop - go get a cup of cup of coffee or eat lunch - we’ve got it covered. Just don’t park by a fire hydrant or on the sidewalk.
